This program focuses on the foundational knowledge of a person’s Essential Skills and Personal Management Basics and the ability to transfer that knowledge into effective talking points for successful interviews.

This workshop is an online training program consisting of 7 Modules with 8 webinars in total. Each online module is designed to be 45 – 60 minutes. The program content itself focuses on the foundational knowledge of a person’s Essential Skills and Personal Management Basics and the ability to transfer that knowledge into effective talking points for successful interviews.

This workshop is about being able to tell the learner’s story in a meaningful way that connects with employers. The workshop is targeted for learners who want to ensure success at job interviews, however the workshop is beneficial for any person that wants to deepen their understanding about personal growth, regarding communication strategies. 

This workshop will not only assist learners in successfully gaining employment, but it will enhance their skills to ensure they maintain sustainable employment and further their career development.

This course covers:

  • Giving employment value to your skills, abilities, and attributes

    By the end of the session, you will:
    • Know what employers are looking for
    • Define successful work performance
    • Define workplace Essential Skills and Personal Management Basics

  • Tools to enhance your Essential Skills and Personal Management Basics

    By the end of the session, you will:
    • Understand the value of being a “Conscious Reflector”
    • Learn how to use the Essential Skills and Personal Management Basics lens
    • Differentiate between skills and tasks
    • Telling My story to Employers

  • Steps to follow as a Conscious Reflector (Gathering your raw materials)

    By the end of the session, you will:
    • Make the invisible visible
    • Identify significant learning experiences that would have provided opportunities for learning and using skills
    • Mine those experiences for their employability wealth (Transferable skills, abilities and attributes)

  • Steps to follow as a Conscious Reflector (Translate and connect your skills, abilities and attributes in a way that an employer would understand)

    By the end of the session, you will:
    • Determine the meaning and relevance of your wealth of skills in relation to your employment goal
    • Unpack your Essential Skills and Personal Management Basics
    • Connect your Essential Skills and Personal Management Basics to Job Advertisements
    • Create “My Story So Far…”

  • Providing evidence and communicating your skills to your next potential employer

    By the end of the session, you will:
    • Support your stories by providing evidence as proof of competency
    • Translate your skills, abilities, and attributes into talking points that an employer would recognize
    • Create “The Elevator Speech”

  • Listening and Speaking with Confidence

    By the end of the session, you will:
    • Know what a good listener looks like
    • How to speak with confidence
    • Understand the importance of Body language

  • Mastering the interview that leads to Employment

    By the end of the session, you will:
    • Identify interview preparation steps
    • Review common interview questions
    • Identify questions you may want to ask in an interview
    • Examine an interview preparation checklist
    • Complete a monthly expense worksheet
